DISTIL Interactive currently has an opening for a Character Modeler.
Position Description: In this forward thinking company, the Character Modeler works within a creative team concepting, developing and delivering high quality game products to DISTIL customers. Using story boards and other visual solutions, the Character Modeler produces art and assets for game products and corporate communications. This is achieved by using a mix of creative skills, commercial awareness, imaginative flair and knowledge of the latest technologies and computer software. Overall Responsibilities: The ideal candidate's credentials will include: - Provide character modeling, rigging, skinning and texturing - Work closely with other functional groups to rapidly execute a successful product development/launch - Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle as required - Brainstorm with other functional groups on new game products - Interact with subordinates, peers and/or managers in other work groups/teams and/or vendors - Establish maintain and enhance relationships with internal and external creative resources - Review trends in art and using the best design practices - Ensure that the most current tools are in use Knowledge and Skills: - 3+ years of industry experience - College education in Graphics/Animation program - Knowledgeable in Maya 2009; - Ability to model to an existing corporate image or style - Produce accurate and high quality work; - Contribute ideas and design artwork to the overall products and corporate communications - Work to tight deadlines and understand material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the final output - Competency in a Windows environment using Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, as well as MS PowerPoint and Word - Creative problem solver from initial concept to final output About DISTIL Interactive: DISTIL Interactive use Digital Games Based Learning to revolutionize how organizations train and certify their employees.
