DISTIL Interactive currently has an opening for a Serious Game Developer.
Position Description: We want a Serious Game Developer with a few projects under their belt (not necessarily in the Serious Games space). You will turn requirements from the game designer and instructional designer into the game logic and flow using our XML-based scripting language. You will assist in creating functional requirements for engineering and creative members of the team and be responsible for integrating their content into your game framework. Overall Responsibilities: The ideal candidate's credentials will include: - Planning, designing, and developing game Business logic using an XML scripting language - Preparing and maintaining game implementation documents - Creating functional requirements for custom software components and art assets - Acting as technical lead for a small team Knowledge and Skills: - Four-year college degree, - Expertise in at least 3 of the following areas: - XML Scripting and Design, XSD, XPath - Flash programming, especially ActionScript 3 - Adobe Flex environment - Software Engineering Design, OOD and Pattern Principles - Game Development - Two years of leading and/or project managing teams of 3-5 people - Strong portfolio that includes numerous examples of projects that you designed or contributed to - Excellent English written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team mates. - Motivated self-starter who likes working on very productive, fast-paced teams. - Passion for games.
